Selecting a Sunscreen: Helping Patients Make Sun Smart Choices

Sunscreen may be the most common form of sun protection, but there is still plenty of confusion about how to select sunscreen and use it correctly. Many of my patients ask me questions about the various levels of Sun Protection Factor, or SPF, the most effective sunscreen ingredients, and which form of sunscreen is best for their skin type. Helping them wade through the confusion and select the best product is one of my most important roles as a dermatologist.
